is the theme this month over at SanDee and Amelie's blog...I decided it was a great way to try out the stamps I had purchased at Viva Las Vegas stamps when I was there a couple of months ago. I'm not sure what drew me to buy ocean related stamps, other than the fact that they were Steampunk, but it's working out perfectly right now. LOL.
I decided to incorporate some of my sarcastic humor in it...
The octopus stamp is Viva Las Vegas, and the fish is a stamp by Mary Vogel Lozinak, sold by Viva Las Vegas. She makes some really cool, quirky, Steampunkish type stamps.
So, if you want to know some particulars, keep reading...
I started by stamping the images with black ink. Dried well, then colored with a paintbrush using Dylusions spray inks in various colors. Once that was dry, I went over the images with an embossing pen, and covered with clear embossing powder. Once dried, I dragged the card thru some Distress Paints in Mowed Lawn, Broken China and Salty Ocean. I quickly wiped the paint off the images, but some of it stuck in some places. Probably should have used Distress Stains instead.
Anywho, once that was dried, stamped the cogs background by Artistic Stamper in Archival ink, stamped the little bubbly thingies, which is also Artistic Stamper.
The sentiment is Carmen.....Carmen....something.....can't remember...they sold stamps at Stampaway. I have several of their "sayings". Gotta love it.
Thanks for a great challenge, SanDee and Amelie!
