Queen of Hearts

Hey there everyone!  Hope your week has been going well!  Mine has been great, with the small exception of having to go to work. lol.
Question of the day - if I were independently, obscenely wealthy, would I really spend more time making art?  Hmmmm......think about it.  I would like to say yes, but I'm afraid the beach or mountain right outside my newly constructed and overstocked studio would distract me.  I digress.  That's what dreams are for.
Ok, the theme of the new challenge at the Everything Wendy Vecchi Yahoo! Group is .... making a custom epoxy embellishment from a memo pin.  Wendy featured this on her blog in June of 2010, and it's also featured in Making Art! Studio 490 Style, Book Three.
I decided to make an ATC resembling a Queen of Hearts from a deck of cards.  It does, kind of. lol.  See what you think...

I may have gotten a little carried away with coloring her cheek, (harlot! tart!) but otherwise I think she looks great. The background has so many layers on it, but it's mostly covered up now. lol. I started with Pool and Denim paint dabber, added some gold leafing, stamped with black archival, stamped with white paint, and also with cobalt archival. Whew!
If you notice, the epoxy embellishment is sticking out of her crown, I thought she might need some luck with #7.
The flowers are treated with stormy sky and chipped sapphire distress stain, followed with a huge amount of Kiwi perfect pearl spray. LOVE this combo.  Hard to see in the photo, but I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that Kiwi is my fave PP color.
Dots of gold on the hearts are with the Viva Pearl Pen in.... ah....Gold. lol.
I made some extra pin embellies while I was at it.  I mean, why not, when you have everything out.

Since this has hearts on it, I'm also going to enter this in Hel's Sunday Stamper, which, coincidentally, is HEARTS. And I haven't entered that in eons. She might have forgotten who I am.  lol.
That's it for this installment, I'm off to reward myself with a fudge cookie.  Did I mention I'm trying to lose weight?  Thanks for stopping by....have a great weekend!

Think your ATC looks just great, even with the over- blushed queen of hearts!

Lori...your ATC is way cool. Girl, you always rock the Wendy stuff and this is no exception! I love her Face Art stamp collection! I think it was YOU who got me on to it in the first place with one of your creations when you were on the DT for SSSS. This piece is colorful and fun! <3 Candy

Way cool! Love the other pins too. Need to have some play time this weekend. Work interferes way too much with art don't you think?

I read this post the day it went up and was so excited about your memory pin technique that I ran off to try it out ... and never came back to say AWESOME ATC!

Also, I haven't used one of the "remade" pins, but I've created a half dozen of them!
