Since this is my last project as a member of the Simon Says Stamp and Show Design Team, I chose to stick with what I love to create with most...Studio 490 stamps and Art Parts! I used stamps from Visions of Art, and Art is Therapeutic, and the leaf vine from the Art Parts - Leaves, to alter this 4 x 4 canvas. I also used Peeled Paint and Fired Brick Distress Stains, along with Peeled Paint Crackle Paint. And how about some Turquoise Perfectly Pearled pine cones to complete the nature theme?
I started by coating the canvas with Terra texture paint from Viva, then sprayed it with Perfect Pearl mist in Turquoise and Kiwi. I then swiped some Stream paint dabber over the corners and a little over the texture in some areas.
The face stamp I used from the Visions of Art set is one that I don't use a lot, but I wanted to challenge myself to use it, so there you have it. My intent was to have her "peeking thru the forest", looks like she needs to watch out for falling pine cones, though. lol. The cones do look pretty cool though, with the Perfect Pearl mist on them. Hard to see here.
And, as you all can see, this is my last project for the design team. Time constraints from working full time, among other reasons, is the main reason I felt I should step down. I was very honored and flattered to have worked with such a great group of talent for a year, though! I always feel that I should put 110% into my projects, and haven't felt that I've accomplished that recently, so, I thought it would be best this way. I'm hoping that I'll have some time to enter challenges here and there, though, so, don't stop visiting me completely! lol! And, I do sincerely appreciate your comments and support!
Once again, our wonderful sponsors at Simon Says Stamp are giving away another $50 voucher! So, be sure to create something and enter it for a chance to win!

I will really miss your SSSS projects - they have ALL been fantastic and this is no different. Hope to still see lots of art though - don't you just hate the way a fulltime job gets in the way of having fun - even if it allows the "splurges" on stash....
Great creative piece Lori. Love love that turquoise and beautifully embellished. You will be sadly missed but I will be popping by to see your creativity regularly. Tracy x
Wow! This rocks Lori! I am loving it.
Lori, you've done great work on this Design Team. They were lucky to have you:) I can so understand the need to let go of certain creative endeavors though.
What a totally fun piece! I'd say she is a visionary fashionista, going "green"! You've had such amazing and fabulous projects for SSSS, I'll miss seeing them! Hope you get some more free time to keep artsy and crafty. :)
You're ending your DT role on a high note! Love this piece even though I'm not fond of that lady for some reason.
Fabulous canvas Lori. Sorry to hear you are stepping down from the team, you will be sorely missed. Annette x
Amazingly fantastic artsy-fartsy piece. I think that if you market this "hat" to the London ladies, it would be on everyone's heads for the next royal event. hugs GF
Very cool project! Love all the elements and how you put them all together.
Sorry to see you leave the design team as I've always enjoyed seeing your projects for them. But I look forward to seeing your future projects. :)
What a beautiful canvas, Lori! I never cared much for the face stamp you used in this piece, but it is perfect here! I'm sure SSS will be missing you and your unique talents!
I've enjoyed all your artwork for the Design Team but I know you will continue to post beautiful pieces and I will be watching for what you do next.
This piece turned out really nice! I have yet to use that stamp of the lady's face but this may just inspire me. The combination of the stamps and the textures is really cool. Will miss seeing your designs here but will read your blog since it is always funny and upbeat!
Lori, your canvas is just fantastic..full of fun details!

Your woman peeking from the forest, by the way, I hope you don't mind me saying, she appears to me a gorgeous Gin Joint flapper with a lovely fresh flower hair piece!

Gosh - your last piece - and you might just have left the best to last! Thank you for a year of inspiration.

Terra and Ferro texture paints are my favourites. They give texture a whole new dimension - so to speak - LOL. Great job on the canvas.
