MAC #17....

Over at the Everything Wendy Vecchi Group, the current Making Art! Challenge is red, white and blue.  Pretty original given that the American 4th of July is this weekend.  Did I mention that I'm the one who thinks up these challenges? lol....

Seriously, I love patriotic themes. I think we tend to forget about what a great country we live in, and the choices and freedoms that we have.

So, I attempted with this tag to combine Studio 490 and some Stampin' Up stamps. Not sure if I succeeded, it's fairly simple, but, as some of you close to me know, I have layer issues. (I find it difficult to add layers and layers).  If anyone knows of a therapist that can help, let me know.

I think I've finally accepted the fact that it's just how I create, and if it looks good to me, what does the rest matter? Right? (ok, I'm looking for affirmation here people).
Here we go:

The stars and the stripes are Studio 490 (wow, that wording worked out well, didn't even think of that prior), I white embossed both for a resist effect. Faded Jeans and Barn Door are the colors of ink, the red buckle is 7 Gypsies, Statue of Liberty, Eagle and sentiment are Stampin' Up, and I added a Maya Road danglie, 'cause it seemed a little bare. :)
Any HOO, enjoy your weekend, be safe, and let's remember.....
FREEDOM really isn't FREE.

20 watcha thinkin'?:

Layers are overrated. LOL Great tag! Have a fabulous weekend!

Keep doing what you are doing. If you try to please everyone but yourself, you loose your signature look. I think your look is "happy" and that is a good look to have.
Have a Happy 4th!

As someone who often can't stop layering, I think that I'm the one in need of a therapist....and I may have found one....the USPS.
When I see how much more it costs to mail a heavily layered item, it's shock therapy.
You, my friend, are totally healthy. LOL!

Very cool! I know a good therapist, but you would have to come here. And bring your craft supplies. She may want to do some physical therapy.
