Grungy Monday!

Here we are at another Grungy Monday! Can you believe May is almost gone??? Yikes! Where DOES the time go?

You can check out the details of the challenge over at Linda's blog HERE.

The challenge for this week is from Tim's September '08 Technique Challenge, which is, using the watercolor technique with dye inks.

I like this technique, and I also like using actual watercolor paper. I've done it on other cardstock, but I really like the result with watercolor paper.

I used one of my fave Tim stamp sets, Fairytale Frenzy. I used Lettuce, Pool, Butterscotch and Terra Cotta Adirondack dye inks. I did add some script in a light gray color just for interest around the edge, but I'm not sure how interesting it is. lol.

I could have added some embellishments, I guess, but quite frankly, I don't think this technique needs much embellishing. That's just me, though. Maybe I'm just stuck in one of my "simple" ruts. Dunno.
Thanks for stopping by...and many thanks to Linda for hosting this challenge, it's been great to revisit some tried and true techniques! Be sure to go check out the other awesome entries!

33 watcha thinkin'?:

I think this is FAB. Love the script - it looks fantastic, and interesting. Wonder if I have a grey inkpad.... lol! This is such a cool technique (as we know!) and it looks awesome on those butterflies. Had another visit to my EWV entry 13 from THE WV herself!! (boast, boast)

Beautiful card. I agree about not adding any further embellishments. This technique is just so lovely as it is.

Love it. No I don't think it needs embellishments. I feel the same way about this technique. I think I should put embellishments on it but in the end it just doesn't need it. Great job Lori.

I agree! I think this really does speak for itself without embellishment. I love the balance and placement and the color combo

Lori, this is gorgeous! It has a real vintage feel to it (by that, I mean it reminds me of the sweet greeting cards from when I was a kid) and the watercolor stamping is utter perfection! I agree-- this doesn't need any embellishments. The colors and design stand on their own and make an awesome statement.

I have no idea where the time has gone, but I sure wish it would take our cold, lousy weather with it!
