It's been a while since I've worked with my Ten Seconds Studio metal and molds, so I thought this would be a GREAT opportunity to use it to complete this challenge.
I covered up a journal that I thought needed a little pick me up. I also love the Time Expressions Kabuka mold, I think it's perfect for the cover of a journal. I also love the Peacock color metal. Yum-O!
I thought the reference to time on the back cover would be a good companion with the front cover, since that mentions life being only "ten seconds long". Rock Star Black metal was used for the spine, which was run thru Tim's On the Edge Ornate die first, before I embossed it with yet another portion of a different Kabuka mold. After sanding, I swiped a Black paint dabber lightly over the embossed areas, just to tone it down a bit. I thought about more embellishing, but I want the journal to be able to be stored flat, and it may get a lot of handling, so I left it as it was.
I used Humungo Killer tape from Ten Seconds Studio to adhere all the metal. Here's some more shots, it's so hard to photo metal.
And lookee here, I saved the cut outs from the die to use on ATC's, tags, whatever...

Wow ... what a wonderfully awesome job of embossing! Just gorgeous!
I love that you made sure to limit the embellishments ... I love to make journals, but when I see what everyone else does I feel like mine are so ... boring.

Be still my heart! This is one of the most spectacular pieces I have ever seen. Just spectacular! Love the colors and especially how you made the spine with that on the edge die. It's really beautiful how you have the embossing lining up perfectly with the die cut pattern.
I know I'm repeating myself, but this is just an incredible piece of work. Who wouldn't love a journal like this to use?

IIIIIIKKKKK! Fantafabulous!!! You know, I got all the stuff for doing metal: the molds, the tools, even the metal sheets, ehehhee, and when I went to work on those, I hated it :((((
I love all the things I see around done with metal, but I'm just not the metal-kinda-girl so I gave all my metal-ly stuff to my daughter who moved to Japan and left all the metal-ly stuff in my scraproom, so I just might give it another try.
hugs
That metal embossed book is stunning!! Love the color!
